Description
The Lahti L-39 (official Finnish designation: 20 pst.kiv. L-39) was a massive 20 mm semi-automatic anti-tank rifle designed by Finland’s legendary firearms engineer, Aimo Lahti. Manufactured by the State Rifle Factory (VKT) between 1939 and 1944, roughly 1,900 units were produced.
Because of its colossal size, heavy weight, and thunderous recoil, Finnish soldiers affectionately nicknamed it Norsupyssy (“Elephant Gun”).
